Diary Page 3:
After a long journey we finally arrived at "The Frontier". The place is the complete opposite of the Mojave, and I'm just glad I've left everything behind. The days are cold, nights are freezing, but I feel content as I contemplate the frozen wilderness landscape from my barracks stairs. Started to smoke again! Good job, Fry! Well, It's the least harming of my vices... Soldier-types aren't the most interesting people to hang out with, but drinking and betting in boxing matches is all we can do here. Me and a few other mercenaries get together once in a while to hit on the local girls and prank the soldiers with scary stories. Can't wait to go off exploring through the ruins of the big city. Read about this place once, It's called Portland. It was a staging ground for old-world military, thus people here seem to be much better equipped than the cowboy peashooters some carry in the Mojave.

Tomorrow will be my first assignment out there. I'm enlisted on someguy's squad as an auxiliary due to my experience with shotguns and SMGs. NCR pays much better their mercenaries than their soldiers, so It's a breeze living here. Plus, I get to keep non-essential items (loot the NCR considers junk) to myself. I'll get a lot of souvenirs from this place, some from the NCR base even...
